The Verdict Is In
–
well, it’s official. i currently have a torn meniscus and a strained ACL. here are some pictures i smuggled out since they didn’t give me my mri results…
good times.
the prognosis…indeterminate…the treatment…nothing. no surgery (which i’m excited about) and no particular rehab…just normal living unless i suddenly have a change in the level of demand on the knee…which i will since i’m joining Cirque Du Soleil.
why am i joining a traveling french circus? well because my trip to the orthopedist also revealed that i, gene pensiero, am in fact more flexible and loosely-jointed than regular human beings.
i was wondering why he kept pulling my fingers backward and hyper extending my elbow. it was because he thought my knees were both so loosey goosey that i must have some sort of rubber-man-ism. the doctor seemed utterly mystified, so…what could i do but draft myself into the wonderful world of circus life.
i figure they’ll start me out in the stretched-between-Strongo-The-Magnificent-and-a-Citroen department. from there i’ll craft a great career of performance in the freakish-arts.
anyway, glad i don’t have to have surgery…sad that my knee hurts.
blessings.
