this guy had a great idea a while back.

there are lots of christians blogging these days. that’s really great.

unfortunately, we don’t always blog in edifying ways.

so, it’s time to follow suit and publish my first ‘positive post tuesday.’

my mom and dad are really remarkable people. their lives were revolutionized by Jesus Christ and for the last 30 years they have been serving God faithfully, joyfully and sacrificially.

in 1983 they started raising me, being that i was born.

in 1985 they packed their bags, took a financial bath on their house and moved a few hundred miles north of their home in san bernardino to start a church in the rural town of hanford.

never once did they sacrifice family for work or ministry. never once has the ministry been neglected. they exemplify to me the profound words ‘not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.’

i drove by the old kings county drive in the other day and remembered how we all piled into our car to go see The Little Mermaid there. my mom baked a plate of cookies. i ate them. i’m hoping i left at least one for my sister.

my parents are wonderful christians. they are wonderful examples of God’s grace and empowering. they are brave and loving and thoughtful and compassionate. i hope one day to have the testimony of endurance that they have. i also hope to one day be as successful at parenting as they have been. i love them and love them and love them.

i lucked out.
