Stewards

it would be for the advantage of the Church, for our own benefit, and for the glory of God, if we were put in our right places, and kept there, being neither over-rated, nor unduly censured, but viewed in our relation to our Lord, rather than in our own personalities
Charles Spurgeon {An All-Round Ministry} pg 253-254

anyone who works or desires to work for a church should read An All-Round Ministry. specifically, the chapter entitled Stewards.

i suggest that there are few texts that will so challenge and stir you as this sermon given by the prince of preachers so many decades ago.

i’m going to be posting some quotes from the chapter this week. i thought this was a good place to start.

read the book.

  1. Yeah! I couldn’t agree more. Charles Spurgeon – brilliance people, brilliance. I love that you posted about him. I am often referencing or recommending Spurgeon, D.L. Moody, Oswald Chambers, etc and people look at me like I’m nuts. I guess they assume anyone under 65 has no clue in regards to these giants of faith and spiritual leadership. I can’t tell you what a kick I got out of reading this great post (posted by a fellow “kid”), on Spurgeon. lol

Blessings to you and your wife – Melody
