…well, maybe not so hostile, but a a take-over none the less.  Don’t worry, the end justifies the means (in this case).

I, gene’s wife, do solemnly declare that today is gene’s birthday! He would never blog about something like this, but luckily for all of us, I would. So if you are reading this please feel free to leave him some birthday wishes down there in the comment section.  Anything will do – “Happy Birthday”, “Way to turn 26, gene” or maybe even “You are the best”.  And if you’re reading this tomorrow and you begin weeping because you missed the chance, please save yourself the trouble – around here we celebrate birthdays for a whole week so you have nothing to bereave.  A literal week too, none of this five day stuff.  So let the celebration begin!  (Can you use the word “bereave” like that?)
