Positive Post Tuesday

ppt

its tuesday.

today’s positive post is for a somewhat unusual individual: the pest control guy.

every week, this gentleman comes to the church campus and diligently does his job.

a few weeks ago i was able to pour him a cup of coffee and talk to him for a few minutes. turns out he’s a believer and spends his (very early) mornings driving around the central valley making sure that we don’t have a lot of these crawling around our buildings:

creep out time

i know. gross.

but, thanks to our pest guy, we don’t have to worry about them.

anyway, i was glad to talk to him the other day and hear a little about what he does.

for some reason, each tuesday when he comes to rid us of creeping things, i am reminded of this Bible verse:

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

1 Timothy 2.1-4

to me it’s exciting to think about all the ways the Lord endeavors to speak to us throughout the day, through different situations, thoughts or people.

our pest control guy encourages me because he demonstrates that God is working all over the world, in every place, to bring people the Gospel.

and, i also see him quietly doing his job. a job that is terribly important if not always appreciated, and it encourages me to live a quiet and peaceable life in godliness and reverence.

the Lord is good.

Thank goodness for the bug guy! If I saw one of those things in my classroom (I teach in our church’s school) I would probably scream and my PreK students would freak out too. Wouldn’t be good.
For me this week it’s been every song I hear on the radio. I had to come face-to-face with some ugliness in my life this past Sunday afternoon, but because the delivery was given in love, I can recover. God has been showing me in those small ways since then, that He’s not given up on me.
    Great post. Thanks!
