Positive Post Tuesday
it’s tuesday and it’s time to be positive.
today’s positive post is for the boys over @ the rock and worship roadshow.
don’t know what that is?
well, it’s a concert tour featuring folks like Jeremy Camp, MercyMe, Addison Road, Hawk Nelson and Tenth Avenue North.
now, in case you don’t keep up on the christian music industry, that’s a pretty big time line up.
of course, today’s positive post is not offered because someone got a bunch of big names together to play music…but for 2 altogether different reasons.
reason number 1 – this concert tour costs $10. that’s it. $10 to see 5 bands. 2 of which are about as ‘big’ and well known as it gets.
now…to put that in perspective…i went and did some ticketmastering for other current tours:
>> The Jonas Brothers’ 2009 world tour – $23.50 – $346.00 per ticket
>> Coldplay’s summer tour – $35.00 – $97.50 per ticket
>> Elton John & Billy Joel next monday in anaheim – $54.40 – $180.00 per ticket
so…yeah…when MercyMe and Jeremy Camp get together with 3 other bands and let you in for $10, it’s pretty amazing.
but that’s not the only cause for some tuesday positivity…
reason number 2 - thanks to the guys @ SkorInc, even if you don’t want to pony up the $10 (or if you can’t get to one of the arenas this time around) you can still watch the show…for free!
yep. free.
every night they’re broadcasting the performances online over @ their website. come one, come all.
here’s the thing…i’m very impressed whenever anyone gives something away for free. i mean, i get all excited when someone is willing to give me a logoed sticker with my product purchase, so when a bunch of bands get together and say “yeah, we’ll give our concert away for free,” i think it’s a pretty rad deal.
not only that, but the bands are doing tons of fun video/photo/etc stuff on their websites during the tour.
so, a hearty well done to the Roadshow, to SkorInc, to the bands and to everyone who was willing to get this out to the world.
i’m encouraged by their generosity and zeal for their work.
swing by one of the websites, leave some positive feedback and if you aren’t going to make it to a live show, log on to see a concert or 2.
blessings!

Wow! You said it even better than Brody! What he is doing and with the help of twitter and friends like us (even though I’ve never met either of you) it is HUGE. SOLD OUT and sadly, turning 1000 away. One more little hiccup & we see all 5 bands streaming LIVE & FREE at every venue on the calendar. I think only Bart’s passion for the message & music he brings can top this post!
The $10 price is totally a steal! I just paid $50 bucks to see MercyMe and Searching For The Real. Of course, my seats were 3rd row. Since, I can’t go to a Roadshow the next best thing is watching online & it’s pretty awesome!
Dang dude. You’re Nice.
