Closing Down

the year is coming to an end.

the last quarter of 2009 has proven to be the least-blogged period in recent history.

seriously…people aren’t posting anymore, including me.

i very much want that to change.

so let me ask you this:

why do YOU think people are blogging less?

too busy?

too distracted by microblogging?

or do you think the trend is coming to an end?

lay it on me.

Hey, you are totally talking about me! 2009 started out ok, but over the course of the year I blogged less and less. I think the biggest reason was I had to go back to work after some 25 years of being a homemaker/mommy/wife. A common scenario in these tough times, it seems to me.

It’s been tough and has been a distraction, to say the least. I really love blogging but it’s hard to think about serious blogging after a long day at work and then coming home to cooking and cleaning. A quick tweet is generally the most I can get out. I don’t think blogging is a trend coming to an end,.. nope, blogging will continue as long as there are people who love to journal or do some form of creative expression with words about what they love about life. So, will I blog more in 2010? We’ll see.

I think everything is becoming blogging… if that makes sense.

People don’t have “blogs” anymore. They have websites…. that are updated… daily.

Twitter feeds into that, Flickr feeds into it. Facebook needs to feed into it… and it will become a “hub” for all things that relate to that person. There should be writings on it, but it will be less because more will be flowing into it.

Just my opinion. But yes, it’s less for sure.

  3. I think it’s all of the above. So many opinions. From so many walks of life. From all around the world. Like Brody said about blogs: “it will become a hub”. My life all crammed onto a page via FB, Twitter, and whatever else feeds into my life! Woo Hoo.

I’ve thought about this a lot recently… and I needed a whole post for my thoughts.

Maybe it sounds a little negative, but I’ve been kind of disillusioned with my blogging lately…
